“Thatch Berry Villas” is named for the native thatch trees found on the property and throughout the islands of The Bahamas.

Birds, insects and other wildlife are attracted to the white seeds found in both the Green and Silver Top species of Thatch Palm. These hardy tropical plants grow very slowly and can survive almost any storm - if the palm falls over, righten it, stake it with three stakes and as long as its roots do not stay exposed to the air it will continue to grow. In the summer the tree becomes a cornucopia of food for bees, wasps, flies and beetles with bunches of white fruit. If undisturbed, this plant which is capable of supporting, sustaining and renewing life, can live up to 150 years.

Enjoy cooling ocean breezes from your screened-in front porch or soak up the sun on your balcony. Sunsets are the highlight of the day as the sky comes alive with fiery oranges and yellows before transitioning to a midnight black sky with twinkling stars...the very image of sparkling diamonds on luxurious black velvet. We can provide a personal chef and privite transportation if you require these services.

Each unique villa is set out to modern specifications with top of the line appliances, tasteful furnishings and quality fixtures and finishes. They are fully furnished with all the necessities for stress free vacationing from pots, pans and utensils to linens. As an added service, groceries can be provided so that your cupboards are already stocked when you arrive. The villas also come equipped with two bicycles per villa - perfect for taking a leisurely tour of the island.
