The Exumas are one of the prettiest settings for snorkeling in the entire Bahamas. You can see corals and sea fans scattered across the ocean's white-sand bottom, and turtles, grouper, lobsters and tropical fish huddled within the reefs. There's also the excitement of swimming with pigs, boating excursions and glass-bottom boat rides, kayaking or sailing.
Snorkeling Sites in The Exuma Islands:
Harbour Buoy Portside - a very active reef with plenty of things to see and discover.
Harbour Buoy Starboard - old ship’s mast at the northern end; lots of brain corals.
Loaded Barrel Reef - large sea beds of staghorn corals and tropical creatures.
Jolly Hall - reef is a hatchery for schools of grunts and yellowtail; snappers nearby.
Liz Lee Shoals - shallow reef with plenty of brain corals and a variety of soft corals.
Duck Cay South - a tiered reef with a kaleidoscope of colorful sea plant life.
Duck Cay North - unusual reef with a variety of smaller fish and schooling snapper.
Duck Cay East & West - a beautiful beach slopes to myriad undersea corals.
Three Sisters - three shallow reefs teeming with smaller schools of fish.
Bird Cay - sea life surrounds this small cay, home to a variety of small tropical fish.
